PEFC-NCCF FM
Under the PEFC-NCCF FM scheme, WBSPL is authorized to conduct certification audits for forest management (FM). Together with our recognized partners, we also provide other globally benchmarked FM certification services.
Through independent third-party certification, the worldwide non-profit and non-governmental Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) promotes sustainable forest management.
India's national sustainability certification standards are being developed by the non-profit Network for Certification and Conservation of Forests (NCCF). The Certification Standard for Sustainable Forest Management was created in-house by NCCF and has gained international credibility thanks to PEFC's endorsement.
The Ministry of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change (MoEFCC) and its premier institutes, such as the Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM), the Indian Council for Forestry, Research and Education (ICFRE), the Indian Plywood Industries Research and Training Institutes (IPIRTI), the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Export Promotions Council for Handicrafts (EPCH), and other industry leaders, provided support for the development of the NCCF Forest Management Standard.
In accordance with the PEFC-NCCF Forest Management Standard, we at WBSPL provide third-party certification audits to State Forest Departments, State Forest Corporations, Forest-based Industries, Pulp and Paper Industry, Plantations, Community Forests, etc. The National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies (NABCB) has granted WBSPL provisional accreditation to carry out NCCF Forest Management Audits.
